Meena Ganesh over the last 25 years has been involved in greenfield start-ups and top corporate organizations in leadership roles.
Currently, as part of her platform Growthstory, she has promoted and is advising five startups in a variety of areas and industries.
Previously , she was the CEO and MD of Pearson Education Services which is wholly owned subsidiary of TutorVista , which she exited recently after selling the company to Pearson .TutorVista through its global business provides supplemental education services for international markets using its proprietary technology platform and the services of teachers from India. Pearson is the world’s largest education company providing professional certification, curriculum materials, multimedia learning tools and testing programmes to over 100 million people worldwide. The solutions offered by Pearson Education Services include ICT based solutions to enhance the teaching-learning process, test prep coaching and tuitions, self-study digital content and school management in the domestic education sector in India.
Prior to this, Meena was the CEO of Tesco’s operations in India, the Tesco Hindustan Service Center. Tesco is the world’s third largest retailer with a revenue base of nearly $100bn and 400,000 people. The Tesco HSC, is the core IT and Backoffice support organization for the entire global operations of the business. This center, which has more than 3000 people, supports the operations of Tesco in all the 13 countries that it has presence in.
Meena was on the Global Retail Council of Tesco, an elite group of about 50 people who run the operations of Tesco worldwide. She also has the privilege of being the only Indian, and one amongst four women on this Council.
Before coming on board Tesco‚ Meena co-founded one of India's pioneering BPO companies: CustomerAsset which she sold to ICICI OneSource. She was the Chief Operations Officer of CustomerAsset and helped build the organisation to nearly 4000 people‚ servicing large corporate customers in the UK and US markets.
During her five-year association with Microsoft India‚ she set up multiple business units for them‚ including Microsoft Consulting‚ Internet and Application Development/Business services units. She was with PricewaterhouseCoopers and with NIIT during the initial 11 years of her career. Meena was conferred with the Distinguished alumnus award from IIM Calcutta in 2011. In September 2012 she was one of the 5 finalists of the Forbes leadership award. She has been nominated as top women leader by many business magazines. This PGDM holder from IIM Calcutta has a graduate degree in Physics from the Madras University. |
